Artist's Comments

An experiment in multimedia: Raw canvas, mat medium, acrylic and oil (archival). This is a response to those who have commented on 'Korean Proverb'. There is an IPA phonetic transcription in this image. Big pat on the back to anyone who can tell me what word in what language it denotes.

hmm, lets see

t
s (retroflex)
small h (aspirated?)
a
(dipping)

very complicated and I don't know Korean.

and sort of gross...

have you given a clue in your title? if it has something to do with tea... chai maybe? that would be west of korea in india, and the only indian I know for tea, though chai isn't tea really. more like coffee. and yummier.

btw i like phonetics alot as a subject, but the international phonetic language is a big hairy mess, are you supposed even to be able to spell dolphin words? the sounds of earthquakes? trees falling?
:iconausila:
The IPA is designed to transcribe the sounds of human speech. It looks like a hairy mess but it's actually very effective if you understand it.
